Following the contest for the best traditional baguette in Paris, from Seine-et-Marne, from the Yvelines, from the Val-d’Oise, from Seine-Saint-Denis and from Essonne, it’s time for a new competition that again spotlights the skill of our Île-de-France bakers—the best organic country loaf in Île-de-France.
This year, 42 bakers presented their organic bread on Tuesday of last week.
After smelling, touching and tasting numerous organic breads, the jury delivered its verdict on Friday, October 2, 2026. To set them apart, the panel scored several criteria, including the bread’s appearance, its baking, its crumb, its aroma and its taste.
And the 2026 Île-de-France prize for the best organic country bread was awarded to Ludovic Janus of La Mie Maisonnaise, based in Maisons-Alfort in Val-de-Marne.
He is followed by Ludovic Lhérault of Maison Lhérault, based in Antony in the Hauts-de-Seine. Finally, Maxime Raïmi from the bakery La Mauvaise Herbe, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, climbs onto the third step of the podium.
Note that the winner will have the honor of representing the Île-de-France region at the General Agricultural Competition (artisanal country loaf category) on November 26–27 at the EBP in Paris’s 12th arrondissement.

Congratulations to the winner and all the participants!
