This spring, the number of gourmet competitions is on the rise. At the Fête du Pain, held on the forecourt of Notre-Dame de Paris, no fewer than 5 competitions rewarded the region's artisan bakers! Best traditional French baguette, best sandwich or best butter croissant... a shower of medals fell in Île-de-France this May.
Another competition was also the talk of the town: that of the best croissant and the best pain au chocolat in Seine-et-Marne. This was an opportunity to reward the 77 region's artisan bakers with the best gourmet creations based on these two essential pastries.
And the choice was not an easy one for the jury. To decide between them, the professionals touched, smelled and, of course, tasted the many creations created for the occasion. So, who made it to the podium? Who had the honor of leaving with the jury's congratulations? The Maison de la Boulangerie-Pâtisserie de Seine-et-Marne announced the long-awaited winners on May 7 via its social networks.
In the croissant category, the Aux Deux Épis bakery in Saint-Jean-les-Deux-Jumeaux took first prize, followed by Aux 4 Épis in La-Ferté-sous-Jouarre. Fred Factory in Pontault-Combault came third.
If you prefer pain au chocolat, you'll find the best creation of this viennoiserie at the Aux 4 Épis bakery in La-Ferté-sous-Jouarre.
