While Orlybus has already left us, the future of the Orlyval shuttle, which operates between the AntonyRER B station andOrly airport, is still uncertain, since the arrival of line 14. Since the latter's extension to the Paris airport, many people prefer to take the fastest line of the Paris metro, whose fare is included in the Navigo pass, when they have to pay 13 euros to take the Orlyval. But this summer, it's free!
From July 15 to August 27, 2025, the RER B between Croix de Berny and Massy Palaiseau is undergoing construction work! The shuttle will be accessible free of charge, but you'll need a Navigo pass to use it, whether you're a weekly, monthly or yearly subscriber. This means you'll be"exceptionally authorized by Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) to use the Orlyval line at no extra cost", so you'll be able to get to the airport at no extra cost - handy if you live in the area. Occasional users, on the other hand, will still have to pay.
It remains to be seen whether this summer measure will enable traffic to resume on this mini-metro, since last summer, ridership fell drastically by more than half. Only residents to the south of the capital can now make use of it, as the connection at Antony is not practical for many people within the city, when line 14 is available. Especially as the arrival of line 18, also at Orly airport, in the next few years is not likely to help its attractiveness...
