Yannick Alléno replaces Jean Imbert as head of the Monsieur Dior restaurant, located in the historic boutique at 30 avenue Montaigne in Paris's 8th arrondissement. This transition follows the expiry of Jean Imbert 's contract and his announced retirement in August 2025, following accusations of domestic violence against him. The LVMH group is counting on the excellence of the multi-starred chef to transform this address into a veritable temple of Parisian haute gastronomy.
This appointment marks an ambitious turning point for the restaurant, which will open in 2022. With his 17 Michelin stars and renowned expertise in the art of modern sauces, Yannick Alléno embodies a veritable revolution in the luxury culinary world. The chef is transforming this emblematic venue, combining the prestige of haute couture with avant-garde cuisine that appeals to luxury connoisseurs and lovers of exceptional gastronomy alike.
Jean Imbert, former Top Chef winner and media chef, retired from his establishments on August 27, 2025 following accusations of domestic violence. This situation led the LVMH group to transition to a chef of international renown. In mid-September 2025, Monsieur Dior passed into the hands of Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, who took over the kitchens of this prestigious address in the heart of Paris's Golden Triangle.
The establishment, designed by Peter Marino, pays homage to Christian Dior, himself a gourmet. The couturier was a consummate gourmet, and Alléno found a copy of "La Cuisine Cousu-Main", the cookbook published by the house in 1972, at a flea market years ago. This historical connection now inspires the chef's new menu.
At the same time as taking up this position at Dior, Yannick Alléno has been appointed Executive Chef of the kitchens on the Orient Express train and on the new Orient Express Corinthian sailing ship, which will be sailing from June 2026. This prestigious collaboration testifies to the chef's ambition to revolutionize the gastronomic experience in the world of luxury.
The multi-starred chef heads a group of 17 establishments with a total of 15 Michelin stars. His flagship remains the Pavillon Ledoyen on the Champs-Élysées, which boasts three starred restaurants: Alléno Paris (3 stars), L'Abysse (2 stars) and Pavyllon (1 star). In March 2025, the group obtained its 17th star, with two new stars for L'Abysse Monte-Carlo after just eight months in operation.
Alléno's appointment comes at a time when the major houses are increasingly venturing into experiential luxury in the face of the global slowdown in spending on luxury goods. The chef brings his mastery of revolutionary techniques, notably his extraction, fermentation and cryoconcentration processes, which rehabilitate and transform sauces like perfumes.
The cuisine is inspired by elegance, creativity and innovation, evoking the spirit of the great couturier in every dish. This modern approach is perfectly in tune with the DNA of the House of Dior, where innovation and excellence remain the watchwords.
In addition to Monsieur Dior, Yannick Alléno plans to open new Pavylons and offer a unique experience at sea aboard the Orient-Express sailing ship from 2026. This bold expansion strategy aims to spread the concept of modern gastronomy in establishments accessible to a clientele of connoisseurs.
At the end of November, the chef also openedIzakaya Dassaiin Beaupassage, a restaurant featuring Japanese specialties and sakes. This diversification testifies to his desire to explore all culinary terroirs while maintaining his demand for excellence.
Yannick Alléno 's arrival at Monsieur Dior is part of a global renewal initiative for this emblematic address. The multi-starred chef intends to make the restaurant a benchmark for Parisian gastronomy, combining French tradition and culinary innovation in the prestigious setting of Avenue Montaigne.
