How much longer are the works at Issy station scheduled to last? When is Issy station due to reopen completely? Since last spring, RER C users have been in a difficult situation.Following "dangerous behavior observed among some passengers, who had crossed the tracks", this famous Issy station was completely closed on April 9, 2025, and for almost a month. On May 5, the Issy station finally reopened, but only partially. In concrete terms, only trains running in the direction Versailles-Château-Rive-Gauche and Saint-Quentin en Yvelines to Paris currently stop at Issy station.
Although this partial closure was due to continue until October, the SNCF announced on August 29 that the work would finally last until the beginning of January 2026. During this period, the Paris-bound platform (track 1) will remain accessible via the Avenue de Verdun staircase. However, access to track 2 is still closed, and trains to Versailles-Château-Rive-Gauche and Saint-Quentin en Yvelines from Paris do not stop at the station. We'll have to wait until January 2026 to enjoy the full reopening of Issy station.
In the meantime, in the Paris to Versailles direction, the SNCF recommends that users get off at Issy-Val-de-Seine, then take Tramway T2 and get off at Moulineaux or Jacques-Henry Lartigue. Other ways of getting to the Issy station area? Take the 290 and 123 bus lines, or get off at Meudon-Val-Fleury station, served by the RER C, and take a train in the other direction to get off at Issy.
But the full reopening announced for early January 2026 will be short-lived. The SNCF has announced that all train stops at Issy station will be"temporarily interrupted" from January 12 to March 6, 2026, in order to continue work on the platforms. During this period, Issy station will be entirely closed. "This stage, although restrictive, is essential to allow complex technical interventions to be carried out in complete safety", it adds. We will therefore have to wait until spring 2026 to see trains stop at Issy station in both directions.
