Founded by Christian Dior in 1946, the House of Dior has forged a legendary history of elegance and innovation in the world of haute couture. On February 12, 1947, the very first Dior show marked the advent of the"New Look" and its emblematic Bar suit, revolutionizing post-war fashion with feminine, luxurious and elegant silhouettes.
After Christian Dior's untimely death in 1957, Yves Saint Laurent took over the reins and created the Trapeze silhouette. Other talented couturiers followed, such as Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and finally Maria Grazia Chiuri, each bringing their own singular vision.
Beyond haute couture, Dior has extended its expertise to perfumery, starting with the famous Miss Dior fragrance, and to jewelry with sumptuous creations. In leather goods, the Lady Dior bag has become an icon of the brand.
The private mansion at 30 Montaigne, an emblematic address in Paris, became the Maison's headquarters, embodying its heritage and commitment to timeless elegance.
Today, Dior 's innovation and creative audacity endure, with each collection revealing unprecedented know-how and craftsmanship. Artistic directors reinterpret the House's iconic designs, fusing heritage and avant-garde to shape the fashion of tomorrow.
