A week to explore what design is made of: Paris Design Week opens the doors each year to workshops, galleries, institutions and sometimes less obvious venues. This new edition runs from September 10 to 19, 2026 and invites visitors to discover not only polished creations but also the gestures, research and experimentation behind them. Furniture, materials, handicrafts or new uses: everyone can chart their own route and sample the events as they wander through the neighborhoods, with no design degree required.

Over in Bastille, there are plenty of places to get hands-on with design. Between artist studios, new cultural venues, and public spaces, the district lets you approach design from several angles, often up close to the people who make it. You can step into a craftsman's enclave that’s usually a bit discreet, peek behind the scenes of collaborative projects, or watch a Paris square temporarily reinvent itself. A route that fits the sector’s spirit—historically tied to artisans and the furniture trades—and that prefers showing design in action rather than neatly posed on a pedestal.
