La Course des Remparts 2024: two courses in the medieval town of Provins (77)

Now that's an original foot race! The 2024 edition of the Course des Remparts de Provins takes place this year on October 6, to the delight of runners from the Ile-de-France region, who are expected to take part in this legendary race in the heart of the medieval town of Provins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's an opportunity to visit this historic town in a different way, with a choice of two courses: 6.3 or 18.3 kilometers! Be prepared, though, as the slopes between the upper and lower towns are steep.

For this 45th edition, you'll have to make your way along the boulevard d'Aligre, alongside the river, before tackling the dreaded ramp leading to the "Trou aux chats". The climb continues to Porte de Jouy, where the cobblestones lead you to the medieval Place du Châtel and its superb half-timbered houses. Then you'll discover the emblematic monuments at the top of the town, between the superb Collégiale Ste Quiriace, the Tour César and the Hôtel Savigny. Exit through the Porte Saint-Jean, and walk along the ramparts and their towers, before heading back down to the valley, on the shady banks of the Fausse Rivière!

As you can see, this beautiful route through the town will allow you to discover its magnificent medieval architecture. Moats, walls, fortifications, half-timbered houses... it's like running through Provins' past! It's also a race for solidarity, in support of the Dravet Syndrome Alliance and the Ligue contre le Cancer.
