Tour de France 2023: how much do the top riders earn?

For three weeks, the riders of the Tour de France 2023 will be pedaling all over the country in an attempt to reach the top places, and thus benefit from bonuses. How much do they get?

All top athletes go home with a nice bonus after a victory in their sports. Three tough weeks await the riders of the Tour de France 2023 before they arrive in Paris on the Champs-Elysées, where they will receive their prizes according to their ranking. Mountain classification, team classification, stage prizes, polka-dot jerseys - the possibilities foradding up rewards and sums of money are numerous during the race.

The yellow jersey receives a 500-euro bonus on each stage. A day in green (points classification), polka dot (best climber) or white (best young rider) earns 300 euros per day. Each stage of the Tour de France, of which there are 21, rewards the first ten cyclists to cross the finish line, as well as the winner of the intermediate sprint, the most combative and the fastest team. A total of 2.3 million euros will be awarded this year.

Discover the different amounts:

  • Overall classification: 500,000 euros for 1st, 200,000 euros for 2nd, 100,000 euros for 3rd, etc., and from 20th to 160th, 1,000 euros.
  • Stage classification: 11,000 euros for the winner, 5,500 euros for second and 2,800 euros for third.
  • Best climber overall: 25,000 euros for the green jersey, 15,000 euros for second and 10,000 euros for third
  • Intermediate sprint : 1,500 euros for first, 1,000 euros for second and 500 euros for third
  • Most combative rider on each stage: 2,000 euros
  • Super combative: 20,000 euros
