For three weeks, the riders in the 2026 Tour de France will pedal across the country in a bid to clinch top positions and, in the process, reap substantial prize money. How much do these sums amount to this year?

All elite athletes leave with a  nice prize after securing a victory in their sport. Three tough weeks await the cyclists of the Tour de France 2026 before their arrival on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, where their prizes will be awarded based on their ranking. Mountain classification, team classification, stage prizes, the polka-dot jersey, the opportunities to add up rewards and cash sums are plentiful over the race.

The yellow jersey receives a 500-euro bonus on each stage. A day in green (points classification), polka dot (best climber) or white (best young rider) earns 300 euros per day. Each stage of the Tour de France, of which there are 21, rewards the first ten cyclists to cross the finish line, as well as the winner of the intermediate sprint, the most combative and the fastest team. A total of 2.3 million euros will be awarded this year.
