What would life be without music? Not much, that's for sure. And what would Paris be without concerts? A capital far less cultural than it is. That's why the City of Light abounds in concert halls. From small venues such as the Boule Noire and the Trois Baudets, to huge venues like theAccor Arena, Paris has no shortage of places to satisfy your musical desires.
One of the must-see venues is the Zénith. Nestled in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, not far from the Trabendo, Cabaret Sauvage and Philharmonie de Paris, the Zénith de La Villette will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2024!
It was on January 12, 1984 that this now famous concert hall in the Parc de la Villette was inaugurated. For the record, the Zénith de Paris was built for a fixed period of three years. However, in view of its success, the Zénith de Paris was eventually retained, much to the delight of live music fans. The venue even spawned several other Zeniths in France, including in Nantes, Rouen, Strasbourg and Montpellier. To date, the " Zenith " banner has been applied to 17 venues in mainland France.
With a capacity of 6,804, the Zénith de Paris La Villette has opened its doors to numerous national and international artists since its opening. These include Renaud, the Cranberries, Limp Bizkit, Alanis Morissette, Prophets of Rage, Radiohead, Les Insus, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, Korn, Blur, Stromae, Texas, Motörhead... Every year, the venue plays host to some 150 events and over 700,000 spectators!
