The word Tuesday comes from the Latin "martis dies", meaning "the day of Mars". This day honors the god of war. In France, Tuesday is a special day: the storming of the Bastille took place on Tuesday, July 14, 1789! Every year, gourmets also look forward to Shrove Tuesday to feast on crêpes and beignets.
As you can see, Tuesday is a day with great potential! So, every week, you can transform this ordinary day into a special moment. All you have to do is take an hour or two to discover an exhibition presented in the museums and cultural institutions of Paris and theIle-de-France region.
Please note, however, that several museums are closed on Tuesdays, including the Musée du Louvre, the Centre Pompidou and the Musée de l'Homme. To avoid disappointment, we've put together a selection ofexhibitions to see this Tuesday. All you have to do is make your choice!
