A sweeping, immersive historical reenactment through the centuries, free to attend, in Essonne

This Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Parc du lac d'Évry-Courcouronnes transforms into an enormous time machine. Dubbed "Les Couloirs du Temps", this free event in Essonne offers a historical immersion across the centuries.

For its third edition since its 2024 inception, the event, organized by the association Le Lac en Fête, goes big with a broader route that now circles the entire lake up to the Bois Briard Farm.

More than 330 passionate, costumed volunteers are ready to escort you into a striking historical journey across a series of thematic encampments. Visitors will be able to wander between a Gaulish camp, a Roman camp, a Napoleonic bivouac Napoleonic, or a Renaissance shoreline and a garden worthy of Louis XIV. A complete medieval village will also be reconstructed, accompanied by its traditional market of artisans.

This year, the event grows with two major additions: a zone dedicated to the period 14-18 and a 20th-century farm, complemented by an exhibition of vintage cars. While it's the perfect occasion for a wonderful family day out, you'll need sturdy walking shoes: the route has doubled in size this year to encircle the lake, and wandering through all eight eras under the June sun is shaping up to be a true, little hike!

Throughout the day, the park will pulse to a nonstop lineup of entertainment. Visitors can watch majestic equestrian shows, street theatre, impressive military drills, or demonstrations of crafts and old-time skills, such as stone carving. The bravest can try their hand at sporting introductions, from archery in Robin Hood’s shoes to the Musketeers’ fencing.
