Fête de la Nature at Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne 2025, a free weekend of festivities

The Fête de la Nature awaits you in Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne on the weekend of May 24 and 25, 2025. A rich program of events for all the family is on the agenda to (re)discover the local natural heritage.

For the 5th time, Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne takes part in the Fête de la Nature. On May 24 and 25, 2025, Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne celebrates nature with a weekend of activities and discoveries, right in the heart of Moret-sur-Loing. This event, which combines local festivities and cultural exchanges, is sure to please.

Birds of prey, wooden games, encounters with llamas and donkeys, canoe trips, creative workshops and exhibitions on local flora and fauna are all on the program for this year's event. And the icing on the cake is the return of the Carnaval à vélo, a not-to-be-missed event.

Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne, a charming commune in the Île-de-France region, is renowned for its historical and natural heritage. The Fête de la Nature is a major event here, inviting visitors to discover the local flora and fauna through a variety of activities.

Festivities program

Over the two days, a wide range of activities will be on offer for young and old alike. Here's an overview of the activities planned:

Saturday, May 24th

  • Educational walk departing from the Rocher Bernard parking lot at 10am with the association Sauvez la Forêt de Fontainebleau. Theme: "The history of the Forêt de Fontainebleau from the Middle Ages to the present day, how the forest was planted and what solutions exist to conserve it", guided by Pascal Villebeuf, naturalist. Meet at the edge of the forest in Veneux-Les Sablons, Rue des Bois.

  • At Jardin des Noues, 1 rue du Viaduc, the educational garden will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with games, educational trails and quizzes freely available. From 1.30pm to 5.30pm, the Corps et Mouvances collective will be presenting a sensitive dance performance entitled "Entre les murs, des liens secrets se nouent et se dénouent". Free admission, with participation by the hat. From 3 to 4 p.m., Evelyne will lead a discussion on biodiversity and climate change, exploring the links between cause and effect so that we can take action at our own level.

  • At 3pm, a talk by Christophe Marie, Director of National and European Affairs at the Fondation 30 Millions d'Amis, on the theme of "Condition animale, états des lieux et perspectives", followed by a book signing at Maison Lesage, 28 rue Grande. At 5pm, at the Salle des Clubs in Veneux-les-Sablons, Pascal Villebeuf will give a slide show on the evolution of the forest since the Middle Ages and the challenges of ecological management.

  • The Bicycle Carnival returns with a bike-decorating and face-painting stand from 3pm to 5pm at the Pré de Pins, route de Saint Mammès. The musical stroll on wheels through Moret-sur-Loing will take place from 5pm to 6pm. In the evening, concerts with LUIZA (tropical electro-pop) at 7pm, BigToof DJ set at 7:45pm, Pambelé (psychedelic Afro-Colombian) at 8:30pm, followed by BigToof's return at 9:45pm.

Sunday, May 25

  • At 3pm, lecture "La réserve biosphère, c'est nous" by Alexandre Marchis, Director of the Biosphère de Fontainebleau et du Gatinais, at the Maison Lesage. At 4.30pm, a conference on "Living with foxes" by Caroline Juneja and Franck Delalande, ASPAS delegates for Seine-et-Marne.

  • In the town center, Atelier Rockzane offers parent-child nature activities, with painting and drawing using plants to represent their territory.

  • The Carnaval à vélo continues with the same program as on Saturday: meet at 3 p.m. at the Pré de Pins for stalls, strolling at 5 p.m., concerts from 7 p.m. with LUIZA, BigToof and Pambelé.

And what about the whole weekend?

  • At Champ de Mars, discover llamas with the association Rando Lamas and donkeys with Avon'ânes. In the Jardin de la Mairie, Arc en ciel animations will be playing old-fashioned games. In the center of Moret-sur-Loing, clown Claudio wanders around and creates balloon sculptures for children. At the Maison Lesage, a photo exhibition celebrates biodiversity.

  • The Canoe-Kayak section of the ADSCE association organizes canoe trips (€2), kayak (€5) and stand-up paddle (€5) introductions, from 2pm to 5pm, departing from the Pré de Pins.

  • La Chouette au Loing will be running contests to win a night at the Chouette Cottage gîte. Other Moret-sur-Loing retailers are also offering events with prizes to be won. A giant game of goose is organized by the town with Shoop City, with vouchers to be won.

  • In Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, an information village features stands from the town hall, the Fontainebleau Biosphere, SIMCTOM and local associations such as Repair'KFE, Les Chats Libres, ASPAS, La Patte Tendue, Cooplicot and AMAP La Bikad. Numerous exhibitors throughout the town center will also be on hand to round off this festive and committed weekend.
