Attend a historic air event, May 23–24 in Essonne

The weekend of May 23–24, 2026, the Cerny-la-Ferté-Alais airfield, located in the Essonne department, will host the 53rd edition of Temps des Hélices, a major aviation and historical gathering, organized by the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis. This year, the theme of Temps des Hélices is the air-show: don’t miss this unique rendezvous in Île-de-France and this grand aviation event!

Since 1970, the Cerny-la Ferté - Alais aerodrome has hosted this major air and historical meeting every year or so, during the Whitsun weekend. " What makes our air show so special is that there are so many different types of aircraft, with historical re-enactments", explains Jean Briez, vice-president of the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis.

Volunteers are also hard at work restoring aircraft for the next edition of Temps des Hélices (or subsequent editions, depending on the restoration needs of each aircraft): the Skyraider, the Stamp and the Dragon Rapide are currently being refurbished in the workshops of the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis.

What's on the program? The pilots of these flying machines are preparing ground entertainment, autograph sessions, a parade of vintage motorcycles and cars, as well as historical re-enactments and a fireworks display. In all, over a hundred aircraft will be flying over the Cerny aerodrome, with themed displays based on the history of aeronautics, from the first planes flown by pioneers to the most modern aircraft. This year's theme is aircraft and cinema.

What’s in store for Temps des Hélices 2026:

• Static display of the equipment, from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM
• Flight demonstrations, from 12:50 PM to 6:30 PM (detailed program here)

In practical terms, the airfield parking lot will be open from 7am on June 7 and 8, and the flight demonstrations will run from 12.50pm to 6.30pm, while the static display will take place from 9am to 12.15pm. To attend this major aerial event, you'll need to pay €35 per adult and €15 per child (aged 12 to 16), bearing in mind that children under 12 pay no admission. This aerial celebration is not a profit-making event, but rather a conservative one, as it enables the Amicale to finance the next edition of Temps des Hélices, and also to protect and restore the national aeronautical heritage.
