Named in homage to Aristide Boucicaut, the founder of the Bon Marché Rive Gauche a stone's throw away, the Aristide bar is located on the second floor of theHôtel Lutetia. From Thursday to Saturday, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., this musical speakeasy welcomes cocktail and jazz aficionados indoors, in its plush, wood-panelled decor, or outdoors, on its patio in the heart of the palace.
A testament to the jazzy past of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the atmosphere at Bar Aristide is underpinned by an electro-jazz, down-tempo soundtrack. Every Thursday, from 6pm to 1:30am, Tempo! parties are organized with electronic DJ sets, featuring artists from the Parisian and international scene.
On the drinks side, this private jazz neo-club unveils a menu of classic and signature cocktails, inspired by alternative music albums. These include the Byzanteens cocktail (vodka infused with rooibos tea, verjuice, ginger, passion fruit, cardamom, soda; €28), the Lullabies cocktail (gin infused with green tea, yellow lemon, red berries and basil, vanilla; €28) and the Humble Bee cocktail (blanco tequila, amaro santoni, lavender agave, lime, bitter mexican mole, grapefruit soda; €28).
To accompany these beverages, the Aristide bar offers a finger food menu: tarama (€19), tuna pizzetta (€24), Peruvian-style tuna ceviche (€22), mini-burgers (€21) or caviar (€160 for 30g of Osciètre, €380 for 30g of Beluga) for the more aesthetic.
