Want a sweet or salty vegan touch? Go to the restaurant and coffee shop Ground to Grow, in the heart of the Marais district! Here, everything is dedicated to well-being, in the plate as in the body, for a real detox in a soothing atmosphere. We discover a varied and healthy menu, which makes us see vegan food differently, with its beautiful colors and pleasant textures. Andwhat makes this little haven of peace so original, are also its yoga classes in a bright and calm room!
Installed in the main room of the restaurant, with a view on the tempting pastries proposed on the menu, we enjoy some moments of respite far from the Parisian agitation, for a few hours. In this pleasant and intimate little cocoon, the adorable Hélène proposes a healthy cuisine, which gives envy and is good for the mind as well as for the stomach. It is possible to come for a brunch, a tea time or just a meal, between pastries, pancakes, salted toasts and buddha bowl.
Ground to Grow is the typical example of the vegan gourmet, which gives its credentials to the plant and goes beyond the stereotypes. It's hard to choose what to eat, as everything seems appetizing and well presented. We opted for sweet things, at snack time, and tested some pastries and a good plate of pancakes that would make Parisian palaces blush, accompanied by unusual lattes.
Note that even if you ingest a striking quantity of food, there is no heavy feelingon the stomach at the end of the meal, which is very pleasant. The food is carefully chosen for its properties and naturalness, and you can feel it. Let's move on to what interests you the most: the pastries! Slightly sweet, the chocolate marble with tonka bean, leaves a pronounced taste of dark chocolate in the mouth, but without bitterness, so it will please all cocoa lovers, without exception!
As for the superb strawberry/rhubarb layer cake, all dressed in pink, it offers another type of texture, much more frothy, with a pronounced taste of strawberry. The famous gluten-free pancake plate is nicely accompanied by fresh fruit, flowers, maple syrup and granola. It's hearty and filling, and is as much a treat for the eyes as it is for the taste buds!
To go with this delicious mix of flavors, we move on to the latte bar and its vegetable milks, with a rose & cardamom latte, velvety and very fragrant in flower, as well as a banana bread latte, between chicory, banana and vanilla milk, perfectly sweet and soft in the mouth. A perfect match with all the sweet treats offered! Cookie, banana cake or carrot cake are also available, for more choice. As for drinks, you will find cold and hot drinks, with tea, coffee, juice, or sparkling drinks, sometimes with original ingredients.
Behind the food hall, you go through the door to find a space reserved for yoga in all its forms, with lockers, a shower and something to pamper you after your class. For once, these classes do not take place underground, in the small Parisian caves, but in a beautiful and large room, under a glass roof that lets the sunshine in. We particularly appreciate its old stone wall, which gives a very warm and welcoming side to the place, perfect to decompress, take a break and take care of yourself, far from the Parisian tumult!
At Ground to Grow, you can practice your favorite discipline or discover for the first time the benefits of this gentle sport with different practices. Vinyasa, Asthanga, Hatha or Pilates are offered by different teachers, to find the yoga that suits you, and to cope with the Parisian life. You can choose between discovery offers, subscriptions or single classes of 25 euros, depending on whether you practice regularly or not.
