Carrot, a British-inspired tea room, opens in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

You knew Carette, now meet Carrot! In November 2026, this new tea room will open its doors on rue du Dragon, in the 6th arrondissement. Behind the project is Amelia Duverger, a Franco-British woman who spent 12 years in London before returning to Paris with the aim of creating a place that blends the influences of both countries.

Carrot will devote itself to the great classics of the British tradition, reimagined with carefully selected ingredients. The English breakfast will be available all day, while the scones, served with clotted cream and homemade jam, will be among the house specialties.

At lunchtime, a deliberately concise menu will evolve with the seasons and the inspirations of the cheffe. On weekends, the English tea room will spotlight the tea time as well as the Carrot Roast, an interpretation of the traditional Sunday roast British-style.

The decor draws on Portobello Road cafés in London’s Notting Hill district. Deep burgundy wood paneling, powder-blue walls, striped banquettes, rattan furniture and vintage china combine to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reimagines the hallmarks of English homes with a contemporary twist.

A small terrace will complete the scene, a space to settle in to work, lunch or extend the afternoon over a London Fog, the iconic hot drink based on Earl Grey tea that’s set to become the house signature. A place to discover soon the British way of life!
