Calling all fine gastronomes, Plaza Athénée’s gourmet restaurant opens from Wednesday January 5, 2022. Erase the board and enjoy a fully renovated restaurant and menu.

Back to late May, we were astounded to find out hotel Plaza Athénée decided to continue with Alain Ducasse starting from June 30, 2021, after 21 years of loyal services from the multi-award Chef within the hotel. Jean Imbert was then named at the head of the famous Parisian palace.

The latter then released a long post on Instagram to announce the good news to his community.

He declared: “I was 18 when Alain Ducasse arrived at the Plaza Athénée and it has always been a dream of mine. Not like a dream that will never come true, but you know, the one you will have to work for 20 years to give you one chance in one million to get there. […] I know I have dreams far too big for me, but what a chance I have to be able to make one, still as amazed as a child. I know nothing is can be taken for granted, and nothing will be easy. Of course, many people will doubt of my abilities for this job, and it will have to be exceptional to be just right. But before saying and writing I will not be up to the task, perhaps they could wait to see my project and give me a chance, couldn’t they?”

After the opening of Relais Plaza this past September, this is now the highly awaited gourmet restaurant to step in. Now called Jean Imbert au Plaza Athénée, this restaurant has been entirely revisited by designer Rémi Tessier.

“Following your great feedbacks about the Relais Plaza for the past three months, that mean a lot, I’m very happy to make you soon discover this new place and its cuisine”, Jean Imbert stated on networks.

On the menu? Naturality gives way to grand cuisine bourgeoise! To be continued, then…

In the kitchen: chef Jocelyn Herland and Mathieu Emeraud for the savory part, and Angelo Musa along with Elisabeth Hot for the pastry and plated dessert part.

Note restaurants open in the evening from Tuesday to Saturday, and for lunch only on Saturdays.
