The town ofAsnières-sur-Seine has not finished making news. In addition to a new bouillon that should delight the Altoséquanais, this summer the town will be home to the gastronomic restaurant, which will not ultimately be starred, of the winner of the 2025 season of Top Chef: Quentin Mauro. Indeed, for the first time in the show's history, a short-lived restaurant will open the very next day.
The choice ofAsnières-sur-Seine to host the winner's ephemeral gourmet restaurant is not insignificant. Located next to the Splash restaurant, this new restaurant, which is in fact a bateau-péniche, has just 40 covers. This is a joint initiative with the Les Bistrots Pas Parisiens group, which although not specialized in haute gastronomy, claims to have the necessary teams to rise to the challenge. The aim is to offer a unique experience outside the center of Paris.
This ephemeral restaurant offers a 6-course gastronomic menu. Expect to pay €95 for the menu and €50 for the wine and food pairing. The fish menu will be served only in the evening, in a cosy atmosphere by the water.Reservations can only be made on The Fork platform.
This season was distinguished by its novel format: the two finalists had to design and run their own restaurant, from concept to execution of the dishes. In addition to the usual panel of judges, Michelin Guide inspectors assessed their performances. The stakes were high for Charlie Anne and Quentin Mauro: to win a star for their temporary establishment. In the end, it wasn't to be, but young Quentin has his sights set on obtaining one in his future restaurant. The inspectors' decision was based on all 11 of Quentin's dishes tasted throughout the season, and a lack of consistency was lacking this time.
"Over the course of season 16, Quentin demonstrated the full extent of his talent, displaying great creativity, a rare sensitivity and assertive technical mastery. Some of his proposals, daring and singular culinary dazzles, were real favorites with the inspectors. While the quality of his commitment and the originality of his creations are to be congratulated, the lack of regularity between the 11 proposals devised by the candidate and tasted by the inspectors during the competition meant that the short-lived restaurant could not be awarded a Star. The inspection team would like to salute Quentin's victory and outstanding performance, and will continue to closely follow the development of this promising talent and the great chef he has already become", says Gwendal Poullennec, Michelin Guide Director.
In addition to television exposure, the winner will benefit from an exceptional showcase for his or her culinary universe. This ephemeral restaurant, which opens its doors on July 3, 2025, represents a veritable launch pad for haute gastronomie. We have no doubt that it will fill up fast. We'll tell you more soon.
