Between back-to-back meetings and errands in the subway, what if we took a little midday break at lunch? On a busy weekday, break the grab-and-go lunch routine in the heart of the Parister Hotel with the "Lunch & Spa" package. The idea? Turn this moment into a genuine escape, pairing a seasonal meal in a tranquil haven with access to the property's relaxation facilities. An invitation to slow down without leaving the city center, since this 5-star hotel with 45 rooms is just steps from the Opéra!
We settle into the restaurant Les Passerelles, in a warm, wood-and-green-velvet atmosphere imagined by the studio Beckmann N'Thépé. But when the weather is nice, the true charm is undoubtedly the 40-square-meter tree-lined courtyard, a hidden terrace perfect for catching your breath. The menu, deliberately concise to guarantee freshness and seasonality of market produce, does the right thing by clearly listing allergens.
On the menu, you must decide between a starter + main course or a main course + dessert, which may leave the hungriest diners wanting more, but you can splash out a little to sample everything. Rest assured, the portions are generous, and this option keeps the digestion light before the spa.
We’re drawn in by a red curry chicken stew with coconut milk, Thai basil, and jasmine rice (€21). The meat, perfectly cooked and tender, is lifted by a richly aromatic sauce where coconut milk and curry mingle wonderfully, while a sprinkling of almonds adds a satisfying crunch to this exotic blend. The jasmine rice, by contrast, remains rather discreet.
For a more traditional option, the Parisian croque with ham and truffled Gouda (€19) proves nicely snackable with its melt-in-your-mouth, comforting cheese. Fans of bold, truffle-forward flavors may find it a touch light, but this subtle balance keeps the recipe approachable for everyone.
On the dessert side, the “tout léger” cheesecake delivers on its promise: its soft, fluffy texture gains character and a lively kick from the delicate acidity of its red-berry coulis. If you’re after even more summer freshness, the red berries and basil verrine (8.50 €) brings a herbaceous note with a light, surprisingly zingy syrup, paired with slivered almonds. A glass of wine or a soft drink is also included in the menu.
Once the meal is over, we head to the wellness area hidden downstairs to change in the lockers, before donning the provided robe and slippers (and of course, don’t forget your swimsuit!). If you need to respect the timings of your one-and-a-half-hour access, you have more than enough time to savor the moment without rushing! We kicked things off with 30 minutes of a steam hammam enveloping us in warmth, before moving on to the venue’s centerpiece.
An impressive 20-meter lap pool bathed in natural light welcomes guests. Ideal for your best freestyle laps and strokes, or simply to drift in this heated indoor pool, whose endlessly shimmering mosaic hypnotized us with its vivid colors. A few buoys and pink flamingos wait patiently in a corner, though this is not a place for sunbathing.
A perfect midday break to treat yourself from time to time and shake up the rhythm of your week, at the price of 75€ per person, available for bookings Monday through Friday.
