After opening two concepts within the Samaritaine, Dalloyau keeps surprising us this Fall. The famous brand recently opened a new restaurant within the Saint-Lazare railway station, by the Passerelle Eugénie. For the most curious one, this bridge is a genuine French architecture gem and also named “Passerelle de l’Impératrice”. How come? Simply because the bridge that joins the station to the Hilton hotel used to enable the young Emperess to move undercover.
Today, this Passerelle Eugénie houses the latest Dalloyau restaurant. Very bright, this 200sqm restaurant opens from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and can then welcome Parisians and tourists from breakfast to dinner via lunch and afternoon snack.
And to delight foodies’ taste buds, the famous French gastronomy house has decided to call in a former Top Chef France 2020 contestant whose smile has marked everyone. Justine Piluso has been named executive chef of Maison Dalloyau and takes over the Dalloyau Faubourg and Dalloyau Saint-Lazare.
Our plates are filled with delicious recipes 70% based on ingredients from Île-de-France such as butternut with mustard from Meaux, oeuf parfait with button mushrooms, and mackerel and Montmorency cherry sauce vierge…
On the menu? 4 starters including a vegan one, 6 main courses and multiple desserts! As for us, we first went for the oeuf parfait with roasted button mushrooms, spinach, seaweed tartare and foam, and sesame-soy cream.
We also really loved the starter based on smoked haddock, stuffed leeks, herb cream, chili pepper, and lemon; a perfectly plated dish with fair and mastered flavors.
Moving on to the main, we highly recommend the hearty dish of arancini with fresh herbs encasing Coulommiers cheese and served with mushroom and watercress cream. Or you can have the grilled beef confit enhanced with a few chunks of glazed carrots and mashed carrots, without forgetting mint, cumin, and delicious meat jus.
If sweet-toothed feel there is some room left in their bellies, may they not worry, the Dalloyau Saint-Lazare restaurant has everything you need thanks to France’s Dessert champion and the house’s pastry chef Jérémy Del Val’s amazing pastries. Opera, lemon meringue tart, chocolate éclair, échiquier without forgetting ice creams and sorbets… There is something for everyone. The hardest thing is to choose.
And to pair these different dishes, the restaurant serves a selection of wines by the glass or bottle, as well as delicious cocktails such as the “Le Louis” (Italicus, lime juice, grapefruit juice), or the signature cocktail called the “L’Eugénie” (Italicus, rose lemonade, sake).
