Head to the United States for a regressive taste trip with Baba Zulu. Head to the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, in the 11th arrondissement, to taste gourmet dishes made with waffles and chicken. Intrigued? We tell you more...

Want to please your taste buds and your soul? We have the address you need! Baba Zulu is the "soul food" restaurant to try without delay. This comforting cuisine, straight from the United States, offers us a unique gastronomic experience, to be enjoyed with family or friends.

At Baba Zulu, the culture of Harlem jazzmen is honored with a menu that revolves around chicken waffles - a sweet and sour combination of chicken and waffles.

Waffles and chicken together, at first glance, seems a bit excessive... And yet, the food is light. The waffles are incredibly moist and light, not to mention slightly crispy on the edges. Not too sweet, they go very well with the maple syrup and the chicken pieces offered.

We also give a special price to the chicken: no matter how it was cooked, it remains tender and well seasoned. In short, we licked our fingers! We particularly appreciate the tenders with honey and barbecue sauce, delicately spiced, which give us the impression to taste our meal in the United States, in a typical diner.

The fine home-made fries traditionally accompany the dishes, but you can also try the mac & cheese, the coleslaw salad, the sweet potatoes or the aloco. On the drinks side, we treat ourselves with sodas that are rarely or never found in France.

The dishes, between 12 and 14 euros, are quite reasonably priced. We even take advantage of a good plan at lunchtime, from Monday to Friday, with lunch formulas at 10 euros!

The generous portions are enough to satisfy the biggest eaters. The others can be reassured: your dish will not be lost; Baba Zulu offers doggy bags to customers! And if you're really still hungry, the waffles with seasonal fruits or banana and pecan nuts are there to help you finish your meal.

Note: Baba Zulu offers halal dishes , and the possibility to change some dishes to make them vegetarian. And if you're too lazy to travel, you should know that Baba Zulu is available on delivery apps such as Deliveroo, Just Eat or Uber eats!

Find the second Baba Zulu address in République, at 23 rue Beaurepaire, in the 10th district. The restaurant, currently closed for renovation, is scheduled to reopen on Monday, October 18, 2021!
