Located on Papillon Street in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, Trigo is a cozy small restaurant specializing in French-Brazilian street food. Founded by chef Ághata Le Lay and Dani Bogoricin, it offers homemade sandwiches, seasonal recipes, and cross-cultural influences, creating a new, highly tempting address open for lunch Monday through Friday.
Trigo ('wheat' in Portuguese) is a celebration of bread, community, and culinary fusion. Unlike tropical motifs or vibrant clichés, its sleek modern design, created by Pietra + Weiss studio, emphasizes clean lines and contemporary sophistication.
At the helm, if Dani has been watching over things since her days in Brazil, Ághata is the one steering the ship solo on a daily basis. After a career in advertising, she decided to leave it all behind to pursue her passion for cooking. She arrived in France completely on her own, learning the language alongside the technical skills during her culinary training.

Trigo’s menu intentionally stays compact, featuring just three sandwiches that form the restaurant’s core offerings. Recently, they’ve added a seasonal daily special (during our visit, BBQ pork ribs; €16.50). The Bauru sandwich perfectly represents Trigo's Brazilian essence.
Born in São Paulo, this heritage sandwich features homemade roast beef, sun-dried tomatoes, pickles, mozzarella, and mayonnaise. Grilled to serve piping hot, with melting cheese, it captures the full flavor of this South American country in every bite. The bread comes from neighboring Union Boulangerie, and everything else is made in-house. Priced at €11.50, like the other sandwiches, it's an easy favorite.
French influences are subtly woven into the menu here and there, without overshadowing the chef’s Brazilian culinary roots (this isn’t fusion cuisine!), as exemplified by the roast chicken sandwich featuring caramelized onion mayonnaise, sweet-and-sour carrots, and spinach leaves. A seasonal sandwich is also available, currently topped with grilled pleurotes mushrooms — though not necessarily vegetarian every time.
The sides highlight the attention to detail, as evidenced by this starter salad (€5), featuring butternut squash and carrots drizzled with honey and sesame, complemented by orzo pasta, Comté cheese, fresh spinach leaves, and a mix of seeds — simple yet thoughtfully crafted.
All desserts are prepared fresh on the spot, just like everything else. The house-made mascarpone cream, topped with chia seeds, poached pear, and a crumble, is notably light and indulgent. The daily cake also makes its way onto the menu, depending on the chef's inspiration. As for prices, expect to pay around €20 for a choice of starter/main or main/dessert, or just €15 for a sandwich deal that includes a starter or dessert.
Experience the vibrant culinary and warm-hearted spirit of Brazil right here in Paris!
