Feel like having fun? Le Cancan Pigalle is the latest and festive restaurant in Pigalle, set close to the Moulin Rouge. On the menu of this new venue, good food obviously, as well as cocktails and burlesque, humor and music shows.
And Le Cancan Pigalle has not settled anywhere, as it set in rue de Douai in Paris 9th arrondissement, in a former hostess bar.
Le Cancan serves French bistronomic food, including tapas. Therefore, the menu created by chef Mathias Rouveure features finger food (cheese sticks, hummus, truffle grilled cheese, fried chicken with keffir lime mayonnaise…), as well as more sophisticated dishes such as pulled pork, tuna tartare or vegetarian dumpling. The salmon ceviche with soy sauce, coconut milk, mango and cilantro is very flavorsome and very hearty. It is rare to see such a hearty plate, especially for such a bargain (€14). Last but not least, for sweet treats, enjoy red berry cheesecake or chocolate mousse.
Generally, Le Cancan Pigalle food is a very interesting quality-price ratio, especially as the place also provides a show.
But Le Cancan also doubles up as a cocktail bar with 21 options including original creations, and a selection of craft beers and wines.
As for shows, Le Cancan in Pigalle bets on 3 main themes: music, humor and burlesque. As a matter of fact, on Tuesdays, enjoy live music with concerts. Wednesdays are for stand-up with a comedy club led by Yohann Lavéant and Aude Alisque. Last but not least, Thursdays are for cabaret burlesque show with La Big Bertha and Mamzelle Viviane.
For our dinner-show, we attended burlesque acts by Charly Broutille and Satina Tsetse. Between ribald song, funny strip-tease, feathers and glitter, the show is never vulgar. Good mood and interaction with the audience are a must. The venue is not very big and everyone is close to the stage. A wonderful moment of conviviality between delights for the taste buds and the eyes.
How about enjoying a festive night and show at Le Cancan?
