Let's have an update on the situation in France. As containment has been lifted this Monday May 11th. As of today, the number of deaths is not known. It will be updated on Mondat, but the number of people in ICU decreases, but the number of people hospitalized increases a bit. Discover the latest news.

In France, according to the latest report from the health authorities as for the COVID-19 pandemic, about 144,806 cases have been reported and 28,215 people have died (the toll stagnates as there has been no report from Santé Public France). The death toll will be known on Monday.

In France, 17,185 people are reportedly at the hospital, including 121 new hospitalizations,and 7 more beds taken in 24 hours. The country reports 1,655 people in ICU, that is to say 36 fewer people including discharges. Last but not least, 64,617 people have been cured and left the hospital in France.

This Wednesday May 20, the death toll is decreasing again. 4 regions gather the biggest number, that is to say 71% of the total:

  • Île-de-France
  • Grand Est
  • Auvergne Rhône Alpes
  • Hauts de France 

It's currently Ile-de-France that counts the most hospitalized people (7,205), the most deaths (6,918) and 686 people in ICU (788  yesterday), followed by Grand-Est with 2,505 people hospitalized and 3,368 deaths. Among the most impacted French regions, we also have Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes with 1,525 people hospitalized and 1,623 deaths, Hauts-de-France with 1,612 people hospitalized and 1,679 deaths, Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur with 1,013 people hospitalized and 878 deaths, Burgundy with 656 people hospitalized and 990 deaths, and last but not least, Occitanie with 293 people hospitalized and 483 deaths.

This Monday May 24, 2020 Covid-19 virus infected 5,410,288 people and killed 345,104 people in the world.
