“Speakeasy” is The Rat Pack circus company creation performed from June 1 to September 1 at Paris Palais des Glaces, every night at 8 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday.
After a few representations this past March at Cabaret Sauvage, “Speakeasy” take up residence for the summer in Paris 10th arrondissement at Palais des Glaces, an entertainment venue directed by Jean-Pierre Bigard.
The Rat Pack is a contemporary circus company. In line with this modern approach, good riddance to circus tent, clowns, red noses, tamed animals, magic wands and juggling balls. With “Speakeasy”, The Rat Pack takes us to a New York clandestine bar in the 30’s. The story is panting and told via circus and choreographed acts.
The “Speakeasy” show includes 6 acrobats/comedians on stage taking us to the time of the Prohibition in the United-States. They mix movie, theater arts and hip-hop dance. Prohibited alcohol, gangsters, settling of scores, forbidden love are to be expected for the show. At the time of the Prohibition, “speakeasy” used to be the name given to clandestine bars.
The original soundtrack is by French group DJ Chinese Man.
How about being blown-away? “Speakeasy” is made for you.
