The Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, created in 1986, is a veritable institution in the capital, with a single mission: to make science accessible to all, and to inspire wonder at technological advances in children and teenagers. On the initiative of President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, the site chosen for this audacious project combining education and entertainment was the Parc de la Villette, a huge area located near the Paris ring road.
A veritable gathering of sciences of all kinds, this museum is designed for curious minds, who can learn more while having fun about living things and what surrounds them, thanks to a host of educational features: games, experiments, educational tours, permanent or temporary exhibitions, planetarium, library, health or children's city, Louis Lumière cinema... So manyfun adventures for the whole family, accessible with the entrance ticket, which gives access to the whole Cité des sciences!
Physics, biology, information technology, astronomy, mathematics, the brain, video games, climate emergencies and many other fields are highlighted in a wide range of exhibitions tailored to specific audiences. Some focus on children, others on toddlers, while the majority are just as interesting for adults, thanks to interactive activities that allow them to experience science in its entirety and to conduct fun experiments!
The Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie is also a place for reflection on contemporary scientific and technological issues. Through conferences, debates and events, it encourages discussion and critical reflection on scientific progress and its implications for society. The world of science will soon hold no secrets for you!
The museum is open daily, excluding Mondays, from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. To ensure a smooth visit, it's recommended to book your tickets in advance: the full price is 13 euros, with various reduced rates available for younger visitors. Several dining options are on-site, so you can comfortably spend the entire day exploring! To get to the museum, take Line 7 of the metro and get off at Porte de la Villette.
