On July 13, 2026, we head to the Marais to dance with the firefighters from the 4th arrondissement, as France marks Bastille Day.

It's a fixture in the French calendar, a time for convivial celebration shared throughout the country: France's national holiday takes place on July 14. The date commemorates the storming of the Bastille and the Fête de la Fédération, two important moments in the country's revolutionary history.

To honor this date, a number of events are organized every year: military parades, fireworks displays, concerts and firemen's balls, every town and village has its own sensational program to bring the inhabitants together for this great popular celebration.

The Fête Nationale is an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of many traditions, and reminisce about French history. And what better way to do so than with a firemen's ball at the Caserne Sévigné in the Marais?

Housed in theHôtel de Chavigny, this fire station was one of the first in Paris. It was created in 1814, following the infamous fire at the Austrian Embassy. In response to this criminal act, Napoleon I issued a decree creating a special military and professional corps, giving birth to the Paris fire department. The rue de Sévigné firefighters are now part of Paris history!

So this July 13, 2026, we won’t hesitate: we head to the Sévigné fire station to dance all night with the firefighters from the 4th arrondissement of Paris. The next day, the festivities continue on the parvis of the Hôtel de Ville, with the ever-present Bastille Day concert.

To crown Bastille Day in style, the Orchestre National de France, the Maîtrise, and the Radio France Choir stage a grand symphonic concert each year on the Champ-de-Mars, with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop. Because the fireworks this year are being held a day earlier than usual, the free concert has been moved to Monday, July 13, 2026. This year, Gautier Capuçon, Marina Viotti, and Corinne Winters are among the artists expected to perform. [Read more]
