This spring, users of the Paris and Île-de-France public transport will once again have to adapt due to several works announced in the metro and on the RER. Thus, on the line 4, the traffic will be interrupted between Châtelet and Barbès - Rochechouart from April 20 to May 1 inclusive. Train service will also be halted on the entire line 13, on May 3 and 17 until 12:00. Another disruption to expect? On the line 3 bis, no train will run between May 16 and May 21 inclusive.
Traffic may also be halted for sporting events or ceremonies. For example, on April 12, the George V station was inaccessible to ensure the Paris Marathon could go ahead.
This 17 avril 2026, the holding of a ceremony in the west of Paris triggers disruptions on three metro lines and one RER line. In detail, the access to stations Argentine (line 1), Charles de Gaulle – Étoile (lines 1, 2 and 6) and George V (line 1) are closed this Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.. "Connections within the station will be impossible", specifies the RATP on its website. Note that the Charles de Gaulle – Étoile station (RER A) is also affected by this closure.
Commuters can breathe easy. Access to these metro stations and this RER station will reopen once the ceremony is over, from 2 p.m., as announced by the RATP.
We also note that major modernization works will disrupt the traffic of Parisian and Île-de-France public transport this summer. In particular, lines 4, 8, 12 and 13 of the metro, the RER lines A, B, C and D, the tramways T1 and T2 as well as Transilien lines K and P.
