Need a relaxing break, want to recharge your batteries and regain some peace of mind? Then here is a slightly original wellness concept that should give you the moment of tranquility you are looking for. Nesspa awaits you in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.
The salon overlooks Rue de la Roquette, a fairly lively neighborhood. However, as soon as you step inside, it's silent. You find yourself in a minimalist, bright space with curves that remind you of a little cloud. It's a bit like an airlock, providing a transition between the frantic pace of everyday life and the moment of letting go that we all long for.
We are given a form, or rather two: the first is fairly standard, asking about our physical condition so that the treatment can be tailored to our needs. The second is a barometer: it invites us to assess our stress level before our treatment.
Because Nesspa is not a Japanese head spa like the ones we are now used to seeing in Paris. Here, the focus is not on beautifying the hair. So there will be no hair diagnosis, no camera to zoom in on your scalp, no hair scrub, and no ultra-specialized, tailor-made treatment for your hair. In reality, Nesspa is a head spa that is much more like a massage parlor specializing in the upper body, and its purpose is purelyanti-stress. The place is also mixed and inclusive.
During our visit, Helena, who is both a hairdresser and a masseuse, accompanied us on this almost dreamlike escape. On that day, we were able to discover the signature anti-stress treatment. It all begins with a relaxation stage through breathing, with an introduction designed to remind us that this moment is ours. A few kind words encouraged us not to hold back our emotions, which was particularly reassuring for those of us who are not used to massage.
This ritual is not linear: rather than proceeding area by area, one after the other, here we experience a more cyclical treatment, alternating between hair care, head and upper body massage, and facial massage. Precise and reassuring movements, performed manually or with the help of accessories, stimulate specific points in order to boost serotonin and dopamine secretion. You lose track of time, as if the world were on pause. You find yourself in a meditative state, relaxed but not sleepy.
Once this first phase of the ritual is complete, it's time for shampooing and a steam bath. If you love this step when you visit the hair salon, here you can enjoy it for longer. After this treatment, the final step awaits you: styling with natural drying or blow-drying. Makeup is even available so you can freshen up as you wish before leaving, feeling lighter!
This test was conducted as part of a professional invitation. If your experience differs from ours, please let us know.
