Less than a week to go until the grand final, and the pressure is mounting on the contestants of this 70th edition of the Eurovision. This year, 35 artists and groups will defend their country’s colors. To win over the jury and the TV audience on the big day, they are tirelessly rehearsing their song and their show.
This spring, the Eurovision Song Contest will officially kick off on May 12 with the first semi-final, followed by the second semi-final on May 14. After these two pivotal rounds, we’ll finally know the 25 finalist countries that will square off in Vienna, Austria, on Saturday, May 16 for the grand final.
So, does France have a chance to win this 70th Eurovision edition? Its contender, Monroe, could she succeed JJ, with the song "Regarde !"? For now, the odds are hotly debated. As of May 9, Monroe remains among the five favourites according to the bookmakers. They currently place her in 4th position, behind the Danish, Greek, and Finnish entrants, with the Finns—the heavy favourites this year—topping the odds.
Monroe, who will be touring churches and cathedrals across France this year, now carries a 7% chance of winning, down from 11% on April 26. She also has a 45% likelihood of finishing in the Top 5.
It’s worth recalling that Louane, France’s representative in 2025, finished in 7th place overall. So, will Monroe beat that? Find out on May 16, 2026!
