Crème cookies have been giving the whole of London a run for its money since the boutique opened in Soho in 2019. From now on, there's no need to hop on the Eurostar to indulge in these little nuggets of sweetness, since Crème has landed in Paris, in the Marais to be precise!
Excellent news, then, for aficionados of these generous, devilishly gourmet, artisanal cookies, created by pastry chef Damien Leroux, a former member of the brigades of multi-starred chef Alain Ducasse. It took the French chef no less than two years of work and experimentation to obtain the perfect recipe.
Usingsimple ingredients and combining his French know-how with inspiration from his travels in the United States, Damien Leroux finally succeeded in creating his regressive cookies, melt-in-the-mouth on the inside and crunchy on the outside, and conquering the hearts and palates of Londoners in the process!
Aplain cookie with milk chocolate chunks, a chocolate cookie with dark chocolate chunks, a miso cookie with white chocolate chunks, and a banana cookie with dark chocolate chunks; Crème's menu is deliberately short, and the cookies, baked throughout the day, are served hot to gourmands, so that the dough remains soft and the chocolate melts. But we've been told that a fifth recipe will be added to the menu exclusively for the Paris boutique!
Crème 's other mischief? A homemade custard-based ice cream, infused with Frosties cereal and topped with cookie pieces, and drinks with an Anglo-Saxon (re)creative accent: hot chocolate with marshmallows, matcha latte, mocha and iced drinks for sunny days, like this gourmet Iced Banana tossed Latte (5.5€) in partnership with Brulerie de Belleville, which supplies its best beans!
