Café Blondie, founded in 2023 by three friends, offers a menu as gourmet as it is varied. Nestled in the heart of the 9th arrondissement, on the corner of rue Saint-Lazare and rue Saint-Georges, the royal-blue storefront makes a bold statement. The simple interior design evokes the raw, natural character of the elements, while the warm colors make Blondie a friendly place to be. It's the perfect place to telework, in a trendy, gourmet setting. We dive into this unique, hybrid and above all designer coffee shop .

This beautiful address combines roasting, homemade catering and a coffee shop area where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in complete tranquillity. Inspired by the United States, street food takes pride of place on the menu, with sandwiches and sweet treats. The menu includes egg buns with salmon and pastrami, fried chicken sandwiches(Crousti Banh) and a small range of salads.

We opted for the Mie Mi VG (6 euros), a sandwich made with sliced bread, carrots, cabbage and grilled eggplant, with the slightly sweet notes of a mustard sauce. This original proposal offers unexpected flavors and stands out from the usual vegetarian recipes. Blondie proves that vegetarian food doesn't have to be bland!

Another not-to-be-missed nugget from Blondie is the original strawberry-stracciatella salad (8 euros)! Made with iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, mint and stracciatella, this astonishing recipe is surprisingly fresh and delicate. This sweet and savory composition is sure to be a welcome addition to any springtime menu.

The editorial team also sampled the famous Crousti Banh (8€), with its soft, perfectly seasoned chicken, wrapped in an extremely fresh bread. It's worth noting that all the breads served and used in Blondie 's recipes come every morning from a new arrival from the bakery ... of the father of one of the founders! In this way, the brand preserves its family-friendly character in every aspect.

On the sweet side, Blondie is not to be outdone, with a range proposed by pastry chef Marine Zerbib: a wide variety of cookies - black sesame, hazelnut... - but also a banana bread topped with a coffee crumble, a carrot cake and a cappuccino tart. Melt-in-your-mouth and gourmet, the cookie dough is irresistibly soft, without being too sweet.

As for the cappuccino tart (5 euros), with its various melt-in-your-mouth, crunchy and shortbread textures, the mix blends perfectly to offer a sweet mouthfeel. Here, everything is entirely assembled on site and always homemade. Be careful, however, not to bite off more than you can chew!

Blondie offers an extensive drinks menu, with a wide variety ofcoffees (2.5 to 6 euros) - espresso, cappuccino, hazelnut... - but also iced coffees and matcha lattes, also available with plant-based milks. This summer, iced coffee offers a truly refreshing break, and Blondie is at the forefront of the field!

Roasted on site, the coffee offered is a blend, a blend of four coffees of different origins - Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia and Guatemala - each with its own distinctive flavour. Also available for sale, the coffee beans used at Blondie are impeccably traceable, an aspect particularly close to the founders' hearts. The roasting method used at Blondie is a light, subtle "blonde" roast, producing a coffee with a tangy, slightly sweet taste. This roasting method gave the coffee shop its name, in reference to the color of the beans produced by this process and the cult film"The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", of which they are fans.

This place is above all a story of friendship. To fully understand it, we need to go back to 2018, to Nicaragua. In the heart of the Jinotega mountains, the two founders, Tom Abbar and Tanguy Kayser, met with local producers and players from the coffee plantations. After living in the United States for 3 years, forced to return to France because of the COVID crisis, the two men decided to launch their own brand, creating a totally new, hybrid address. Encouraged and sponsored by Johan Pesenti, the mentor they met in New York, where he trained them in his company selling coffee to New York's top palaces, the two best friends combined their best assets to bring their project to life.

During their stay in Nicaragua, Tom and Tanguy had the opportunity to get their hands dirty and plant coffee trees, soon to reach maturity for the use of the beans. So, at Blondie, the coffee served is entirely homemade from roast to cup, and will soon be from earth to cup! Each bean and each origin benefits from its own roasting program.

Blondie is the perfect blend of tasty, home-made American street food and authentic coffee house. For a meal, a coffee or a snack, this is the perfect compromise where you can take home your own pack of coffee beans (9 euros, 250 grams). If you're in the mood for lunch in a lively, designer venue, then you know where to go!
