Founded in Paris in 1886, Fauchon is an emblem of French culinary luxury. From the Place de la Madeleine to international markets, Fauchon has stood the test of time, combining innovation and art de vivre in a spirit as audacious as it is elegant.
Auguste Fauchon, a former fruit and vegetable peddler on the quays of the Seine, founded the company in 1886. He opened his first delicatessen at 26 place de la Madeleine, a strategic district for Parisian luxury. His demand for quality, his selection of rare products and his flair for new tastes soon attracted a demanding clientele, both French and foreign. From the outset, Fauchon made a name for itself with its refined aesthetics and sense of service, and the brand quickly became synonymous with modern gastronomy.
Over time, Fauchon broadened its palette: confectionery, chocolates, pastries, teas, but also foie gras, macaroons and high-flying savory creations. In 1960, the company invented the Fauchon double-shell macaroon as we know it today, becoming a forerunner even before the wave of the 2000s. Always at the forefront, Fauchon creates pastries with daring shapes and unexpected combinations, while respecting a demanding French tradition. Innovation is everywhere - in composition, presentation and taste.
A house of prestige, Fauchon became a symbol of French art de vivre, and rapidly expanded abroad. In the 1970s, Fauchon stores opened in Japan, then all over the world, particularly in the Middle East, Asia and the United States. The Fauchon name became synonymous with gourmet elegance and French refinement. In 2018, Fauchon takes the experience even further with the opening of Fauchon L'Hôtel Paris, on Place de la Madeleine, a 5-star boutique hotel combining gastronomy and luxury hospitality.
Today, the Maison Fauchon continues to reinvent itself. It trains young talent, collaborates with renowned designers and chefs, and explores new gourmet territories.
