At Sortir à Paris, since we're always on the lookout for new events in Paris, we've been delighted to see an upsurge in solidarity-based, committed and ecological initiatives. We told you about the Zero Waste festival, the Veggie World vegan fair and the Parc de la Villette's solidarity picnic: Parisian friends helping each other out and driving towards a better world.
ThePain Perdu association 's initiative is one of many: once a month, in various locations around the capital, the association invites the public to reflect on a topic of the future. On Sunday June 26, we'll be thinking together about food waste and how to avoid it. With enough food produced to feed 12 billion people today, it's not hard to imagine the tons and tons of food that are simply thrown away, even though hunger is still a major problem.
So, let's learn to stop wasting for a cleaner, greener and better nourished planet. On June 26 at the Klin d'œil boutique, thePain Perdu association will host a round-table discussion with a number of anti-waste initiatives (such as the Optimiam app, the La Louve supermarket and the Freegan Pony restaurant). A Do It Yourself terrarium-making workshop, with florists from Atelier Carmin. And of course, a French toast sale will be organized, as French toast is a delicious recipe that resurrects food that might otherwise have been thrown away!
