Welcome to Berchoux, your next go-to spot for Sandwiches and innovative cuisine in the heart of the 18th arrondissement of Paris. This cafe-canteen and sandwich shop, tucked away at 16 rue de la Fontaine du But, invites you to discover flavors from near and far.
Featured in the Guide du Routard, Berchoux offers a world cuisine served on a plate or as a sandwich, to be enjoyed on site or to take away, with a firm commitment to ensuring the flavors hit the mark, ranging from tasty dishes and original sandwiches to refreshing Bissap and house-made lemonade, as well as drinks on tap to cut down on waste.
One of the restaurant’s highlights is the menu that changes regularly. It’s lovingly crafted by chef Julie Berchoux, based on the treasures she uncovers at the market and from her anti-waste suppliers, with her rock and roll kitchen style and a friendly atmosphere.

Like in a real canteen, here everyone helps themselves to the cutlery. Guests are even encouraged to bring their own containers, and they’re rewarded with a discount.
If you're after an essential, the menu sticks to two constants: Julie's incredible carrot cake—her own personal recipe—and the secretly guarded peanut–chili sauce that drapes the burrata. The sandwich breads come from a superb bakery—extra fresh and ultra soft.
It's Julie Berchoux, a chef of 30 years with an impressive, star-worthy track record and a warm personality, who has been setting the tone here since the place opened more than five years ago. Julie is a passionate chef who deftly steered a risky course in these challenging times for the industry, delivering pleasure and freshness in her sandwiches and daily specials.
Learn more about Julie in her interview for Girls in Food where the chef opens up about her journey as a woman in the world of gastronomic cuisine!
Or you can hear her in a discussion on the culinary podcast “Madame la cheffe” with Culinari.
The location is 100 meters fromthe Lamarck metro station, close to the "Le Funambule" and "Théâtre Montmartre Galabru" theaters, the Saint Pierre market, the Montmartre museum, the Place des Abesses, the Sacré Cœur, the Butte Montmartre, and more.
Sandwich at €12 with toppings at €4 or daily special €15 to take away or even to eat in at midday on weekdays and on Friday and Saturday evenings. Weekends are sprinkled with PopUp moments, thanks to a room that hosts vintage finds or workshops depending on the dates (check it out—it's a great spot to combine tastings with activities). On Sundays, treat yourself to a Brunch experience you build by pairing shareable dishes with the varied sandwiches as well as the boards at Berchoux, where cuisine and conviviality are on the menu.
Don't miss out on their wide selection of coffees, including Golden, Matcha, Cherico, and more—available throughout the day!
