Paris, with its picturesque streets and legendary monuments, is a city that never ceases to surprise. But today, we're offering you an original way to discover it: on board the Bus Toqué Paris, which is launching its new Saint Germain 1920 bus for a tour of the Left Bank, from Saint Germain to the Eiffel Tower.
This idea, which may seem strange at first glance, makes perfect sense when you climb aboard. In 2018, Vincent Durand gave birth to this original experience, having already seduced with his Auto-Passion Café. Le Bus Toqué is more than just a mobile restaurant: it's Paris seen from a whole new perspective.
Imagine dining while admiring Notre-Dame, the Seine or the Invalides, without ever leaving your table. And while you might be surprised to discover a monument by looking up from your plate, the pause at the foot of the Eiffel Tower to watch it sparkle is a real treat.
Seeing Paris is great, but what about the food? At the Saint-Germain 1920 bus, you'll be served French cuisine, with well-sourced products such as Caviar Français de Sologne. Everything is prepared in advance and finalized on board to ensure freshness. Drinks are not left out, thanks to partnerships with Champagne house Billecart-Salmon and selections from the Caves du Louvre and Ô Château in Paris.
Forget the TGV menu or some of the bateaux-mouches express menus, we have to admit we were surprised by the quality of the dishes, which, I must say, is equal to the experience. The pea gazpacho is fresh, the sea bream well-seasoned and refined, and the guinea fowl meltingly tender - a nice surprise! The dessert by Matthieu Mandard, who has already delighted us with his choux and chez les Artizans, is sure to seduce lemon fans in search of acidity.
Here's the 5-step "Paris By Night" menu (110€, 130€ with 2 glasses of wine, 160 champagne and 4 wines):
Peagazpacho with mint and sherry vinegar, strawberry mirepoix
Sea bream with mango and coriander, passion fruit vinaigrette
Breast of farmhouse guinea fowl from Normandy with thyme-scented jus, yellow carrot mousseline, spring vegetables
Assorted cheeses from Fromagerie de Paris (Eric Lefebvre, Meilleur Ouvrier de France)
Camembert with truffle
Cantal entre deux AOP
Morbier PDO
Le Citroni by Mathieu Mandard, French Dessert Champion lemon cookie, lemon and mint apple compote, lemon mousse and raspberry glaze.
Note that the Déjeuner Rive Gauche is served in 4 stages for €70, while the Dîner Parisien is served in 3 stages from €90.
Each itinerary is accompanied by an audiovisual guide in 6 languages, covering 96 points of interest for further discovery. In short, an unusual experience to offer or treat yourself to for a special moment. For the curious and lovers of atypical experiences, a romantic dinner that's out of the ordinary, why not take a trip through Paris and enjoy a gourmet moment?
