At the gateway to Paris, Commune Image is an artistic venue, a new-generation cinema factory, now labeled Patrimoine d'Intérêt Régional. Between screenings, creations and previews, this is the place to come for lunch or dinner at Muse, the venue's new address.

At Muse, the atmosphere varies according to the time of day. For lunch, it's a convivial canteen where you can sit down to enjoy a starter-main course-dessert menu for €21, or the committed anti-gaspi formula; for aperitifs, you can meet up with friends over a drink (two, three...) and some planks to share, with the centerpiece of the menu, a brasserie cuisine that fuses flavors from all over the world.

Led by three women, the project stands out from the crowd, as much for its setting as for its unique cuisine. The chef is Agness Colley, a former member of Thierry Marx's brigades, while Sabrina Drif manages the restaurant andCaroline Safir heads Commune Image. On the menu (in the evening, since this is the menu we tested), you'll discover tapas-style sharing boards, with delicious grilled octopus and Caribbean sauce, marinated chicken brochettes served with peanut sauce, beef tataki... "In the evening, we give carte blanche to Agness [la], who offers a cuisine with Afro-Caribbean influences", Sabrina explains.

So, each dish has its own unusual touch, carefully thought out by Agness. For example, hummus is made from cowpea, a bean eaten in Africa; tarama is made from cod and served with green oil and black sesame seeds; roasted sweet potatoes are accompanied by fried okra, a bean with a gelatinous texture usually eaten in jelly... Even the plantains are different from the traditional allocos, the ripe plantain fritters served in African cuisine, to be cooked here in the healthier form of matchsticks.

On the sweet side, we advise you to go for the tarte tatin, with its roasted christophine (a plant from the cucurbitaceae family), its very thin filo pastry and its coconut cream, to try the pineapple carpaccio served as a granita, to taste the tapioca cloud with coconut milk... In three words, Agness' cuisine is convivial, creative and particularly original. Each dish is skilfully thought through: seasoning, flavours, depth, textures... It's all there, and it's a real experience that Muse (kitchen, service and venue included) offers you. In short, a wonderful address to discover in Saint-Ouen!
