Looking for an authentic French restaurant in Puteaux? Discover L'Andouille, set in a leafy alleyway in the 92 district. This friendly bistro run by chef Jean-Pierre Vasseur has been serving generous home-cooked cuisine since 2020.

In this charming district of Puteaux, Hauts-de-Seine (92), refurbished and located near the theater, we discovered a culinary nugget that's well worth the detour. L'Andouille nestles at 6 rue Collin, in a quiet, shady pedestrian street, far from the hustle and bustle of nearby La Défense. This discreet address hides a genuine French bistro where chef Jean-Pierre Vasseur and his team warmly welcome lovers of good traditional cuisine.

The establishment is immediately appealing, with its shaded terrace taking on the air of a village in the heart of the Paris suburbs. The interior design is simple and unpretentious, favoring authenticity over artifice. This elegant sobriety creates an atmosphere where you immediately feel at ease, in the spirit of the Parisian bistros of Thierry Breton, whose right-hand man for many years was Jean-Pierre Vasseur.

The chef's background is well worth the detour: a native of Puteaux, he first worked in the United States for a decade before returning to France to work alongside one of the pioneers of bistronomy. It was at Michel's that he met his wife Jarlène, from Brazil, who now manages the restaurant with a constant smile and formidable efficiency.

The à la carte menu changes regularly according to the seasons and the chef's inspirations, offering 8 to 10 starters, main courses and desserts. Formulas remain affordable, with a market menu at 28 euros for lunch (starter + main course + dessert), a formula at 36 euros and a full menu at 42 euros. This pricing policy allows you to discover authentic French cuisine without breaking the bank. We also like the children's menu at 20 euros, which doesn't just offer fries and nuggets, but the dishes of the grown-ups in reduced portions.

By way of amuse-bouche, the restaurant offers periwinkles and barnacles, unusual in a Parisian bistro. You pull on them to dip in the sauce, and they get everywhere, but it's a change.

We then tested the poêlée of razor clams seasoned with Pontarlier aniseed, a fresh, iodine-filled delight in which the fleshy mollusks detach easily from their shells. The aniseed adds a distinctive aniseed note that enhances the marine flavor. The pigeon, pig and hazelnut pate reveals all the chef's expertise in the art of traditional charcuterie, with a crispy pastry enclosing a generous, fragrant filling.

The restaurant's signature dish: andouille de Guéméné-sur-Scorff. Served with a creamy mashed potato and melting pig gratin, it perfectly embodies the canaille spirit claimed by the establishment. You can feel Thierry Breton's touch on the plate with this chef who has worked in his kitchens, particularly in the quality of the raw materials used.

The poached veal kidney with its pan-fried mushrooms testifies to the chef's technical mastery. Perfect cooking preserves the softness of the offal while eliminating any bitterness, while seasonal mushrooms add their woody flavors.

As for desserts, we fell for the apple kouign-amann, a Breton specialty revisited with talent, and Thierry Breton's Paris-Brest, a model of its kind that pays homage to the chef's mentor. These sweet creations extend the meal in the French pastry tradition.

The friendly atmosphere is an integral part of L'Andouille's charm. The service, provided by Jarlène and her team, is attentive without being stuffy. This simplicity, far removed from the sophisticated codes of fine dining, creates a relaxed atmosphere where it's a pleasure to savor every bite.

The establishment's location is a major asset. This quiet, leafy alleyway offers a surprisingly peaceful haven just a stone's throw from La Défense. The Godefroy parking lot, just 200 meters away and offering one hour's free parking, makes it easy for motorists to get here. The proximity of Square Henri Barbusse adds to the feeling of a village in the heart of the metropolis.

L'Andouille is for gourmets in search of authenticity in a convivial setting. We come here to share a simple and generous moment, whether with family, friends or just as a tête-à-tête. This address confirms that there are still French restaurants in the Paris suburbs where homemade cuisine and a warm welcome take precedence over fashion. A wonderful discovery in Puteaux that's well worth a visit.
