In the Marais district of Paris, Pezzopane invites you to Italy with its paninos featuring authentic Neapolitan recipes prepared in-house with 100% Italian products. Here, indulgence is a family affair, from sandwiches to desserts!

A little trip to southern Italy in the heart of the Marais, at Pezzopane! In this little takeaway restaurant, which means"piece of bread" in Italian, everything is made in the family with the heart and memory of a Neapolitan nonna who left her mark on people's minds... and stomachs! And what an opportunity to taste a piece of this touching culinary story, thanks to homemadesandwiches that pay homage to Italian cuisine and speak to everyone.

In June 2025, Clémence, Adrien and Clément opened this gourmet haunt featuring only Italian products. On the menu are seven recipes for paninos (no, not paninis!), Italian sandwiches made from hand-shaped ciabatta bread, cut lengthwise and topped with a whole host of delicious ingredients.

While most takeaways are available in this very pedestrian area, it is possible to sit at two tables outside or in a small room near the zinc counter, but the space is small, so come early or be prepared to wait. If you're in a hurry to sit down, there are plenty of parks and pretty green spaces in the neighborhood to welcome you.

Cacio e pepe, bresaola, pistacchio, polpetta, tartufo and piquante are all recipes you'll find on an Italian holiday, wrapped in bread and priced from €12 to €14.5, not forgetting a vegetarian and a salad if you prefer. For our part, it was their grandmother's typical dish that made us hungry, with its highly appetizing beef polpette.

Excellent, the meatballs are melt-in-the-mouth and garlicy, with a tomato basil sauce spread over a honeycombed crumb, sprinkled with a slightly fruity pecorino and a light mozzarella (which we replaced with stracciatella) that adds softness and density. A real delight!

With its crusty, golden bread crust, the generous sandwich, divided into two parts, settles the stomach without being stuffy. We also tried the Tartuffo and its herbed white ham, which feels like it comes from Italy at first bite, topped with a little crunchy arugula and ricotta. As for the truffle, often too present, here it's well balanced and doesn't overpower the other flavors.

And what would the boot be without its desserts and pastries? Tiramisu, maritozzo (a large loaf of bread filled with whipped cream), baiocchi, cannoli or panino with pistachio or spread, you can choose from a wide range of mouth-watering treats.

Our choice fell on a cannolo made in minute, rather small and therefore very light to finish a meal, delicately sweetened with chocolate and creamy ricotta, as well as a homemade baiocchi marked with two small "P", with a crunchy cookie well buttered and soft inside, which avoids the dryness of those found in stores, both at 3.5€. Resolutely gourmet.

To accompany it all, two fresh Sicilian lemonades, one with a hint of lemon, the other with pomegranate for a change, perfect for red fruit lovers. But Pezzopane is also an excellent spot for a good quality Italian coffee!

Suffice it to say that this address brings Italians back home for a comforting moment, and just makes the others want to take a few days off on a trip to continue enjoying this gastronomy, but fortunately, if you're not far from the 3rd arrondissement, there's no need to take a plane!
