The viral concept in the United States—where Suka Sushi has been drawing crowds for weeks—makes its debut in France. Here, the maki is cleverly packed inside a cardboard tube, containing ten pre-cut bites ready to be pushed out one by one.

The setup is straightforward, fun, and perfectly designed for social media sharing: just pop off the top, open the soy sauce straw (sweet or salty), pour it directly onto the roll, then close it up and use the button underneath to push the sauce in. No need for chopsticks or a plate. And if you don’t finish it, simply close the tube and reattach the straw to take it with you.

In terms of flavor, the tastes are classic but effective, and the sushi is well-executed. Eight recipes are available, from the California Roll at €9 to the Tuna or Salmon Roll at €12, not forgetting a Veggie version. Prices, comparable to typical lunchtime menus, do not include salad, miso soup, or vinegared rice: C'Roll Sushi remains a specialized eatery, entirely dedicated to tube sushi. To accompany the roll, a few drinks can be purchased separately, such as canned sodas or small bottles of still or sparkling water. No desserts or side dishes are offered.

Good to know, for those with hearty appetites, one tube might seem light, but once you reach two, it can start to add up pretty quickly for a quick bite. As for comfort, don’t expect long, convivial tables: the restaurant has just 3 tables, seating a total of 6. The setup is geared more towards a speedy lunch than a cozy, lingering meal. Keep this in mind if the weather outside isn’t cooperating!

Having been a fixture in the neighborhood for several years, the restaurant has completely revamped its concept to introduce fresh ideas into the highly traditional Japanese culinary scene and attract a new crowd. Driven by endorsements from food influencers and the buzz on social media, this fun, highly visual, and portable format could soon expand to other cities across France.

Definitely worth trying for the fun of it and the perfect Instagram shot… plus, who wouldn't enjoy squeezing your rolls straight out of the tube!
