Located at 13 Jacques-Louvel-Tessier Street in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, the Occasion restaurant opened its doors in February 2026. This new dining spot is led by two close friends and talented chefs, Margaux Baju and Candice Brée, who bring a fresh perspective combining gastronomy with an artistic universe. The venue aims to create a dialogue between cuisine and design, envisioning itself as a space for creative expression.
Margaux Baju has previously worked at the Plaza Athénée and Akrame, while Candice Brée has gained experience at Gaya and Pages. Together, they are presenting a four-course tasting menu priced at €49, featuring carefully crafted ingredients from start to finish. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday, evenings only, with two seatings each night.
The identity of Occasion is rooted in a bold aesthetic philosophy inspired by Bauhaus. The press release explains: "The space features a collection of vintage pieces including Marcel Breuer’s B34 chairs, Pierre Paulin’s Strafor chairs, a suspended shelf by Ben Hoek, and Jocelyne Trocmé’s wall sconces. On the terrace, which adds about fifteen more seats, the chairs are designed by Mallet-Stevens. The tableware has been carefully curated by Margaux and Candice over the past two years: chrome pieces, amber, smoked, and opaline glass, all reflecting a strong 70s vibe. On the tables, you’ll find Strateg Ikea cutlery and Thomas Germany porcelain."
The two chefs also explain: "The name resonates with the idea of gathering and sharing a convivial moment around the table. It was also chosen to highlight the art of dining and pre-owned furniture selected by the chefs, who aim to host pop-up sales of designer items within the restaurant." Some pieces and creations displayed inside the restaurant will then be offered for sale, season after season!
