Rue Mandar, Babi is starting to seriously set up shop. After its restaurant and then La Cave de Babi, the team announces the opening of Quatorze, their third venture on the same street in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris. As the name fairly clearly suggests, this new counter will be set up at 14 Rue Mandar.
For this new spot, a move toward the Southwest! Quatorze presents itself as a regional-inspired counter, with a menu built around seasonal produce, short supply chains, and shareable tapas. In the drinks, the team plans to continue the work started at Babi with a selection of wines from small producers in the Southwest. No detailed menu has been released yet, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to see exactly what will come out of the kitchens and fill the glasses!
But to get to the source, a short walk down the same street does the trick. Babi opened at 11 Rue Mandar, driven by Jérémie Taché and Néo Guerin, two friends who cut their teeth at Shabour and Tékés. Sitting midway between a wine bar, the bistro and a chef's table, the restaurant has about 30 seats, roughly ten at the counter, pairing a concise menu of seasonal shareable small plates with a curated selection of French and international wines.
With Quatorze, the team redefines this culture of the counter and wine in a style that leans more toward the Southwest!
