This is no secret: many big brasseries in Paris are only serving frozen goods to their patrons, and they are often pretty much ungentle. Luckily, some brasseries keep on serving nice goods on your plate, like brasserie Loup in Paris 1st arrondissement.
Open every day from 11 a.m. to midnight serving food and drinks non-stop, Loup has enjoyed a makeover. Inside, you have the chic and modern brasserie with a big moose head on the wall, exposed stones, lovely globe lights, seats at the counter, on the large table or the bench seats. Outside, a (very) big angled, sheltered and heated terrace, perfect to house your winter lunches.
In the kitchen, a young chef got into his head to rework the entire menu and give pride of place to homemade goods. Here, the team uses organic produces when possible, thoroughly-sourced meats, and fresh ingredients. You end up with simple, authentic, and comfort food.
On the menu, beautiful pieces of meat that are roasted in front of you, right behind the counter, timeless Parisian brasserie classics (snails, rillettes, oysters, tartares, burgers), healthy dishes (pokebowls, salads) and a rather affordable lunch set menu: €21 starter/main or main/dessert.
As winter is coming, for instance, you can order the onion soup (€9) and its melted cheese, the very hearty slice of half-cooked homemade foie gras (€15) or the revisited cordon bleu 2020 style served with white wine cream and buttery homemade mashed potatoes. The 300g Basque pork loin (€25) roasted on site will delight you if you are super hungry.
Pair it all with a glass of organic wine and finish with some homemade dessert like an apple pie for us. Yummy!
