In Sartrouville (Yvelines-78), just a short walk from the train station, Papillote is set to open its doors soon in the former police station. The charming façade of this century-old building—originally a school in 1912, later an ANPE office, and then the headquarters of the local police—already turns heads. Over the past year, residents have watched the transformation unfold with anticipation, eagerly awaiting this new restaurant, a rare find in this neighborhood where there aren't many comparable eateries.
Guests will find themselves welcomed into two inviting spaces: a cozy lounge perfect for a morning coffee or after-work cocktails, and a warm, dining room where you can enjoy the chef’s daily special at lunchtime (with options starting from €15.90) or indulge in a gourmet dinner. The menu, revised five times a year, highlights seasonal ingredients to showcase a hearty and flavorful bistronomic cuisine. Convenient parking nearby makes it easy for both regulars and visitors to stop by.
In the kitchen, Chef Daniel Maslac, trained at Le Train Bleu and the Bristol, grew up between his grandmother’s aprons and the kitchens of Paris’s top establishments. Achieving top honors in the Île-de-France region at just 19, he managed several renowned brasseries before launching Papillote during the lockdown. Originally offering a catering service to bring fine dining into your home, it has now evolved into a restaurant and tea salon in Chatou, opening in 2024.
Sartrouville is getting ready to welcome its latest culinary hangout: a neighborhood bistro offering seasonal dishes and hearty portions, all set in a space rich with history.
