Iluma alma iberica, here is the latest Iberian restaurant serving Spanish and Portuguese specialties, tapas bar style, in Paris 2nd arrondissement. A lively bar-restaurant providing fabulous moments of sharing whether it comes to drinks or food.

Set in the lovely busy and lively rue de Montmartre, at number 49, Iluma is the latest restaurantcocktail bar enjoying a beautiful and big terrace and inviting us to discover Iberian cuisine inspired by Spain and Portugal. Enjoy sunny cuisines, pitchers and tapas to share for very convivial moments with friends and family.

On Wednesday evenings, the restaurant provides live music (funk, soul, jazz, gospel…). And starting this September, more entertainments are to be enjoyed. We must say one of the two associates of the place – former Jamel Comedy Club director and Marrakech du Rire organization committee member – knows the score. He promises happenings and more unexpected moments to enjoy very soon.

In the meantime, have a seat for a meal and discover the menu created by the place’s Spanish chef, former sous-chef in a gourmet restaurant in Spain. Here, you are served tapas, a tad original but not too much so far, to make us enjoy a change of scenery without losing us, whilst relying on quality produces.

As for us, we started with two homemade cocktails. Classics rub shoulders with signature creations inspired by Spain and Portugal. The good deal when there are several of you is to get 1 or 2-liter pitchers, which costs less at the end of the day.

Go for the ham fritters as crunchy as smooth, the cod fritters with aioli and squid ink served warm, and the salmon and tuna tatakis marinated and soy to shake taste buds.

Moving on to main, go for the daily special (note the restaurant always tests the menu and regularly serves daily specials likely to make it to the menu if they are a success). We got the divine king shrimp ceviche. Imagine the softness of the king shrimps marinated with passion fruit, onions and lemon, and served with the freshness of cantaloupe, how delicious!

Then, we got traditional Iberian desserts such as fried milk with cinnamon served with passion fruit, cinnamon rice pudding, delicious crunchy donuts stuffed with vanilla and chocolate cream and covered in melted chocolate.
