20km de Paris: major traffic and parking restrictions this Sunday

The 20km de Paris returns to the streets of Paris this Sunday, October 12, 2025. To ensure the smooth running of this pedestrian race, major traffic and parking bans are planned for this Sunday. Find out more about the restrictions put in place by the Préfecture de police.

The new, 47th edition of the 20km de Paris will take place this Sunday, October 12, 2025. This year, the start of this pedestrian race takes place on the emblematic Pont d'Iéna. Runners will continue their route, taking in the Trocadéro, the Arc de Triomphe, the Bois de Boulogne, Roland Garros, the Maison de la Radio and the Pont Royal, before finishing at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. While the event is eagerly awaited by sports enthusiasts, the Vredestein 20km de Paris will cause disruption on several of the capital's roads this weekend.

In a decree published on October 3, the Préfecture de Police announced temporary traffic and parking bans in the capital's 7th, 8th and 16th arrondissements. The aim? To ensure the smooth running of the race and the safety of participants and the public. So what exactly can we expect? Find out about the traffic and parking restrictions.

From October 10 at 2:00 pm to October 12, 2025 at 6:00 pm, all motor vehicles will be banned from the Avenue Joseph Bouvard in the 7th arrondissement, and parking will be prohibited on the same Parisian avenue from October 10 at 6:00 pm to October 12, 2025 at 6:00 pm.

Another ban? On October 12, from 1:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., motor vehicles will be banned from the following streets and sections of streets in the 7th and 16th arrondissements:

  • pont d'Iéna ;
  • place de Varsovie ;
  • avenue des Nations Unies ;
  • quai Jacques Chirac ;
  • quai Branly ;
  • rue Jean Rey ;
  • avenue de Suffren, between quai Jacques Chirac and avenue du Général Détrie

Vehicle traffic will also be banned on October 12 from 5:30 am to 3:00 pm on the Quai d'Orsay and Avenue Rapp, in the 7th arrondissement.

Traffic is also prohibited on October 12 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm in the following streets located in the 16th district:

  • exit ramp for the outer ring road "Porte Dauphine" and "Henri de Vaulx" ;
  • exit ramp of the inner ring road n° 6 "Porte de SaintCloud" ;
  • exit ramps from the inner ring road "Porte Lafond", "Porte Molitor" and the lane designated AU/16.

The Préfecture de Police is also prohibiting traffic on October 12 from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm at the level of the voie Georges Pompidou and the avenue de New-York, in the 16th district.

Motor vehicles are also prohibited from circulating on October 12 from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm in the following streets located in Paris Centre, 8e, and 16e:

  • quai Saint-Exupéry ;
  • souterrain Alma ;
  • cours Albert 1er (underground section) ;
  • cours La Reine (underground section) ;
  • Concorde underground ;
  • quai des Tuileries ;
  • quai Aimé Césaire ;
  • pont Royal ;
  • promenade Edouard Glissant ;
  • promenade des Berges de la Seine-André Gorz ;
  • promenade Gisèle Halimi ;
  • place de la Résistance.

Finally, vehicle traffic will be prohibited on October 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the following streets of Paris Centre, 7th, 8th, and 16th,"which make up the race route", it is specified:

  • place de l'Alma (westbound carriageway) ;
  • avenue Marceau ;
  • rue de Presbourg ;
  • avenue Foch (central causeway) ;
  • place du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny (northern carriageway) ;
  • route de la Porte Dauphine à la Porte des Sablons ;
  • allée de Longchamp ;
  • allée de la Reine Marguerite ;
  • carrefour des Anciens Combattants ;
  • boulevard d'Auteuil ;
  • place de la Porte Molitor ;
  • boulevard Murat ;
  • place de la porte de Saint-Cloud ;
  • boulevard Murat ;
  • rue du Général Niox.
