Are you among the 60,000 runners lining up on the Champs-Élysées this Sunday, April 12, 2026 for the 49th edition of the Paris Marathon ?
If so, you’ll need real nerve to tackle the 42.195 km of the iconic race through the capital.
But the route is shaping up to be spectacular, with a start planned on the world’s most beautiful avenue. Runners will then head toward the Place de la Concorde, the Place de la Bastille, and the Bois de Vincennes, before looping back to the banks of the Seine to reach the Bois de Boulogne, then on to the Trocadéro and Avenue Foch, where the finish line awaits.
While some plan to join the course to cheer on the runners and their loved ones, others intend to discover this 49th edition of the Paris Marathon from the comfort of their sofa. Because this year, the Paris Marathon will be broadcast live on television.
You’ll need to rise early to catch the start of the Paris Marathon. Starting at 7:50 a.m., France 3 plans to broadcast the race live through the streets of Paris. The coverage will run until about 10:30 a.m. Note that Eurosport 1 also intends to air this sporting event live.
