It's an exhibition well worth the detour. From May 17 to July 19, 2025, Jeanne Vicerial presents "Nymphose" at Galerie Templon - Beaubourg, in Paris's 3rd arrondissement. This is an opportunity for the talented French visual artist to unveil to the general public her sublime, large-scale sculptures in black thread, crocheted or smoothed.

Do you know Jeanne Vicerial? A talented visual artist and committed researcher, the French artist is unveiling some of her impressive work this spring and summer in a small, free exhibition to be seen in Paris. From May 17 to July 19, 2025, Galerie Templon - Beaubourg presents the culmination of the artist's two-year reflection on metamorphosis, in an installation entitled " Nymphose " .

For two months, the public can discover several of Jeanne Vicerial's " presences ", the large sculptures of black thread, crocheted or smoothed, so characteristic of her practice. For the occasion, the gallery's only main room has been transformed into a kind of intimate bedroom, where some fifteen of her " presences " can be admired, large and small alike. In the midst of childbirth or a loving embrace, these sculptures seem to observe us in monastic silence. A particular highlight is the installation at the back of the room, with a sculpture lying on the floor, concealing flowers in its chest.

The exhibition also unveils a wall of small " sex-votos ", made with a single thread, and in which the artist inlays nuggets of bronze and fine gold for the first time. These works evoke subjects as diverse as the fear of the passage of time, evolution and disappearance.

Here's an exhibition that should appeal to fashion enthusiasts, but not only. Jeanne Vicerial 's incredible practice should also impress contemporary art lovers, who already admire the work of Japan's Chiharu Shiota. For there is a certain similarity in the creative process of these two artists. It's not for nothing that these artists are both represented by Galerie Templon.

But unlike Chiharu Shiota, who creates monumental installations from red, white or black wire, Jeanne Vicerial creates sculptures from white or black wire and rope, shaped in part by the " tricotissage " technique developed and patented by Jeanne Vicerial. For this new Parisian exhibition, Jeanne Vicerial has chosen to give pride of place to black, with elegant, deeply luminous works.
